Adopted!!! Congratulations Huckleberry!!
Possibly the sweetest, silliest dog around, Huckleberry is looking for someone who has a little time and patience to help him recognize what an amazing dog he is. While shy at first, this handsome fella has such a big personality once he opens up. He’ll army crawl across a whole room just to come get some snuggles and give some kisses. He loves the idea of fetch, though he isn’t very good at it. His antics are sure to leave you laughing. He’s a sensitive boy who gets a little anxious at times but is very eager to please the right lady. Huckleberry is terrified of men, and will need to be in a home with all female humans. He does fine with male dogs.
He is kennel trained but isn’t destructive when left out. He seems to see his kennel as his safe spot. He generally sleeps in it at night even when it’s open.
Loves runs/walks but needs work on his leash manners. He’s very strong and gets very excited when other dogs are around.
He knows sit and down, and has been working on shake.
Ideal Home Setting: Probably a female (although I’m sure there’s a “right guy” out there), that lives a quieter lifestyle and isn’t gone for long periods of time. Is either active/loves the outdoors or has a nice, high fenced outside spot for Huckleberry to run and play and chase squirrels (though he doesn’t like to be outside by himself for too long), a home with another dog would be a plus to help him build up confidence.
Is Huck is good with:
Dogs? Yes! He loves other dogs! Proper introductions are key.
Cats? He’s fine with confident cats (if they run he’d probably chase them)
Kids? Older, respectful kids are fine. He wasn’t a real big fan of my friend’s young ones.
People? A little shy at first with women, but warms up quickly. Huckleberry does not do well with men, he is not aggressive, just very scared of them.
Huck’s adoption fee includes his spay, vaccines and lifetime micro-chip.
