Special Notes: Duke needs to be an only dog, and no cats. Duke needs to be fed in a slow feeder bowl. He is going to need a lot of calories and groceries over the next few months as he is underweight. He slobbers. That’s a fact, so if that grosses you out, Duke Gary is not the dog for you.

Duke is a sweet, loving, and responsive creature. He needs a gentle hand and a strong leader. No corporal punishment or yelling, as it would break his spirit. Someone has used a very heavy hand on this poor animal. He needs time to trust the humans again.
Duke just completed 4 weeks of training. He learned how to sit, heel, down, leave it, and off. He walks incredibly well on a leash. He is potty trained. He is also crate trained but being crated makes him very sad. So, we don’t recommend that.
While we aren’t requiring bloodhound experience, you must demonstrate that you have done your research about the breed. You should understand what they need to have a happy and successful life with you. This includes mental stimulation, daily walks, and possibly even tracking adventures.
Duke rides really well in a car and would be up for an adventure any time. He needs a kind and loving human that will incorporate him into every part of their lives. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is currently being fostered in Aurora, CO
