Meet Lucy! She is a smart and active one-year-old female Blue Tick Hound, available for adoption in Denver, CO.
Lucy has a bubbly personality and gets along with all humans and dogs of any size. She absolutely needs a canine playmate that can match her one year old energy level. Her perfect home will have a six foot securely fenced backyard.
Lucy’s new family will be moderately to highly active, providing daily walks. She would love to go on weekend excursions such as hiking or camping, and then when it’s time to relax, you can find Lucy curled up in a tiny ball on the couch ready to watch Netflix.
Blue Ticks, and hounds in general, have almost zero understanding of vehicle traffic. They will run straight into an intersection or busy street without giving it a thought. Because of that, Lucy can’t have any off-leash activity. She has the hound nose, and she will follow it for miles when allowed to.
We are currently working with Lucy to help her learn leash etiquette with a gentle leader. She does pull when leashed, but learns quickly!
This girl will be the perfect addition to any family that has a love and understanding of Blue Ticks. She embodies all of the great qualities this breed has to offer, including being highly affectionate. She would LOVE to have a job to do, and would make a great hunting partner! Lucy is potty trained, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
