If Jake Ryan had a dating profile it would read young, brainy, fit, outdoorsman looking for that forever kind of love. This handsome hound has a great sense of humor and is really a dog that goes with the flow. He is also very smart and easy to train.
Jake Ryan’s perfect home will be with an active person/family that likes to go for walks, runs, and hikes. He has spent time at doggy daycare and absolutely loves it, and has made many friends, both human and k-9. He is a silly kid and will bring you many laughs.
Jake is kennel-trained, potty-trained, and knows how to use a dog door. Since he is young and still learning about this big wide world what he needs most is a strong alpha with a gentle hand. Once he knows the rules he is happy to abide. Jake is eager to please and is excited to be the perfect happy hour patio wing man, running partner, camping buddy, backyard frisbee freak and Netflix cuddle partner.
He needs a six foot secured fence and someone familiar with or willing to learn about his breed, because as a hound, Jake will follow his nose as far as it will take him. No off leash activity until you and Jake establish trust and good communication. Jake will do best in a home where his person is available to respond to his young dog needs or someone who is willing to reinforce positive kennel training.
