ADOPTED!!!!

Max and I recently sat down and discussed matters of the heart and just life in general. Max mentioned that he is looking for a long term partner(s) to live with. Max has decided that additional canine company is not necessary. He has recently discovered that he prefers humans to dogs. However, he will compromise and is willing to live with cats.

I told him I would start looking for the right fit…
Max recently completed 4 weeks of basic training camp. He now knows heel, sit, down, and leave it. Rest assured he is eager to learn more skills and tricks too!
This sweet creature and his mighty powerful nose won’t drag you around when walking on a leash. He walks beautifully next to you and loves to please.
Things to consider regarding Max:
  • He is a couch hog, so probably a bed hog too
  • He wants to be right next to you whenever possible-if you do not like velcro dogs Max is not the dog for you!
  • He loves to give hugs
  • He slobbers-if this grosses you out Max is not the dog for you
  • He might want to sniff out your trash and get right up in there because well…he’s a bloodhound. Trash should be secured and locked away.
  • He is underweight and will need some time to fill out. He is going to eat a lot for the next few months.
  • Max would prefer walks with his human(s) rather than going to a dog park.
  • He is a sweet soul that needs a gentle hand BUT ALSO a strong pack leader – lead him with love!
  • He is potty trained and crate trained. BUT, he HATES the crate and will howl.
  • Max rarely barks unless he is sad and lonely-please see above bullet point.
  • When out in public BE AWARE people will consistently stop you to tell you how handsome Max is. These people are NOT wrong!
Have you always wanted to love and share your life with a Bloodhound?! Now is your chance, just make sure you research the breed as with any adoption. This way you know exactly what to expect when you bring Max home. The more knowledgeable you are, the better you can make an informed adoption decision.
Max is currently being fostered in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
