Mr Darcy has FOUND his perfect family! Congratulations Mr Darcy!
“There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
Mr. Darcy would like the honor of being introduced to the perfect lady or gentleman to capture his affections.
Much like his namesake in the book, Mr. Darcy is aloof, socially awkward, and slow to warm up to others, but once he decides he likes you, he is committed heart and soul. Mr. Darcy would like a quiet life with someone, where secrets can be shared, dreams can be lived, and he can feel safe in his affections. This handsome gentleman is no rake, but rather a shy and sweet soul who wants only to meet his perfect Mx. Bennett.
“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed.” – Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice
Do you have a quiet home? A quiet life? Often home all day? Need a small, quiet, and sweet dog to share your snacks with while reading a good book? We think you might be the perfect person for Mr. Darcy. This is what he wants in a future home:
  1. Only one person, please. Not too much traffic or visitors.
  2. No other animals. He wants to be the baby.
  3. Mr. Darcy does not like smokers or cigarette smoke. The smell makes him very stressed out.
  4. Someone who will be gentle with him. Some people in the past weren’t always the nicest, so Mr. Darcy can be surprised by people moving fast, or shouting, or grabbing
  5. He would really really really like to be allowed on the furniture, and have a spot of his own to sleep.
  6. Walks, shopping, socializing outside of the house – these are ok. Just not for too long, because it’s tiring (Mr. Darcy is absolutely an introvert).
  7. If you have a backyard, or a patio with a small patch of grass, or even a balcony that he can sit on with grass and sunlight, he would be extremely happy.
“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”  – Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice
This is a note from Mr. Darcy’s foster mom: “Mr. Darcy wants to meet his perfect person, but you will need to be patient with him. Trust us, it is worth it. Especially in the morning, when sitting on the porch drinking coffee, and he climbs up onto your lap, and tucks his head under your chin to give you a hug. And when it is time to nap, he loves to curl up next to you on a pillow, so that he can see you, and relax. He’s the most loving little boy, but just needs some time to get used to change and new people.”
Once he has decided that you are a person he likes, Mr. Darcy is the most affectionate, attached, and loving little man.

Because Mr Darcy is such a gentle soul and takes time to warm up, his adoption will be a slow process. We know that this may not work for everyone, but it is what we have found will be the best for this little sweetie. His perfect family will be willing to take it slow and invest some time in getting to know him.
