Lucy’s start to life wasn’t optimal. Her human was moved to assisted living and she was left in a backyard with two other dogs to fend for herself. That’s when a good samaritan stepped in and got all three dogs to safety. And that’s where we like to think that Lucy Lulu’s story starts. As we say in rescue #nomorebaddays.

Lucy is a well adjusted girl that seizes the day through play and long naps in the sun! She loves romping around and playing ball! Yeah you read that right! A Bloodhound that loves to play ball. However, she is still working on bringing it back for repeat throws.

Lucy walks well on a leash and is kenneled trained. Did we mention she is potty-trained as well? Lucy’s perfect family will have a six foot, secured fenced backyard. BUT, they will also walk her several times a week so she can sniff out all the good smells that her neighbor has to offer. Lucy is potty trained and rides well in a car. She would love to have a canine companion that wants to play and keep her company while her humans are away at work.

Lucy Lulu is not a candidate for off-leash activity as her nose will take her miles from home. And while she hasn’t been cat tested, we are pretty sure she could live with a couple of felines and not have any issues(most Bloodhounds are cat friendly). Lucy is currently being fostered in Arvada, Colorado.

She is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and chipped. She is heartworm positive and started undergoing treatment. The rescue will pay for her entire treatment there are no out of pocket costs to adopters. However, her new family should be well versed on the heartworm treatment protocol. Additional considerations to make regarding potentially adopting Lucy Lulu-no kids under 10 years of age. No apartment style or townhouse living.
